About

Designed to fill several needs, the mission of the North Bay Herpetological Society (NBHS) is: to provide a forum for the exploration of the natural history and captive ecology of reptiles and amphibians; to explore conservation issues affecting captive and wild herps; and to provide education and assistance to community organizations, animal rescue and advocacy organizations, and pet stores.

NBHS was founded in Sonoma County in 1993 by Melissa Kaplan, Karen Wofford and Judy Osterhout, and is a registered non-profit organization.
