NBHS provides educational outreach, with programs and exhibits for schools, nature centers, and related animal, humane, and environmental education events and organizations. Members of the Society also accept herps needing homes and find suitable placements for them.
NBHS was founded in Sonoma County in 1993 by Melissa Kaplan, Karen Wofford and Judy Osterhout, and is a registered non-profit organization.

Every year, thousands of reptiles are given away or rescued, all of whom need new homes. NBHS frequently has herps up for adoption--check our adoptions list below to see if there is someone you can provide a home for. If you have an reptile you need to find a home for or are willing to foster animals that need rehabilitation or temporary housing, please contact Al Wolf at (707) 829-8152. |
